BTS is facing backlash after showing moments of drinking and swearing in their upcoming Netflix documentary, BTS: The Return.

According to a News1 review, thanks to an early screening event on March 20, the documentary includes behind-the-scenes footage of the members using profanity during songwriting and gathering for drinks at night.

When questioned if there were any concerns about exposing such “private moments,” HYBE said the goal was to show a “genuine and authentic” side of the group as they start a new chapter.
Of course, the artists and our internal team had discussions. The conclusion was that, as we start a new chapter 2.0, we wanted to show an honest and genuine side.
The members were initially hesitant, but after seeing the final product, they were satisfied and expressed gratitude to the director.

Despite the explanation of authenticity, Korean netizens have condemned the inclusion of such scenes. Many argued that drinking and swearing do not equal authenticity and even claimed BTS members have already “shown enough of that.”
