Actor Byun Yo Han came under fire after reacting to WINNER member Song Mino’s apology statement after Song was given a suspended sentence for violating military service laws.
Earlier, on October 9th, Song Mino posted a handwritten apology on his social media account, days after receiving a one-year prison sentence with two years’ probation at the first trial on the 1st.

Subsequently, Byun Yo Han liked the post and left three heart emojis in the comments without any further explanation.
This led some netizens to respond with comments like, “Why three hearts on an apology?” and “Keep friendships private.”
They questioned whether it was appropriate to publicly post hearts on a message apologizing for military service misconduct.
However, since Byun did not explain the meaning of the comment, it is difficult to conclude that the hearts were meant to support Song’s violation.
The two have been friends for more than ten years. A birthday party photo posted by Byun Yo Han on social media in December 2015 includes Song Mino.
Although the brief response came from a longtime friend’s apology, it became a subject of debate as it overlapped with Song Mino’s military service controversy.
