Netflix has announced its two leads for upcoming fantasy romance Long Vacation. Putting a twist on the vacation fling tropes, this story follows the misadventures of a demon who has never felt love as he visits Earth and interacts with a plucky human who turns his world upside down.
After a very successful year as one of Korea’s rising stars, Choo Young-woo (Head Over Heels) takes on a different role this time as demon number “3375.” As an ancient and powerful being, 3375’s newest task sends him to Korea where he takes his lodging at a hotel by the ocean. There, he meets his room attendant who causes him to experience an array of incomprehensible emotions, including love, for the first time in his life. For a demon that always had his way, suddenly 3375 starts to change all because of an encounter with a human.
Playing the role of 3375’s world-altering human is Lee Se-young (Motel California) as the resilient and resourceful Lee Deul-pan. When VVVIP guest 3375 arrives at their hotel, Deul-pan assists him as his room attendant. However, while going about her job, she keeps getting entangled in his affairs, and unexpectedly, her feelings start wavering in a direction she did not anticipate. Surely falling in love with a demon who is on vacation can’t go wrong!
In the director’s seat, Netflix staple PD Lee Jung-hyo (The Price of Confession, Doona!, Crash Landing on You) takes the reins for his third project with the streaming site alongside frequent collaborator Jung Hyun-jung (Our Blooming Youth, Lovestruck in the City). PD Lee and Writer Jung have worked together on four other projects with their most recent work being Romance is a Bonus Book. Filming for Netflix’s Long Vacation began last month in March, and no premiere date has been set as of late.
