Actress Goo Hye Sun has drawn significant attention after revealing her secret credentials in the music industry.

In a recently released YouTube video, Goo Hye Sun opened up about one aspect of her career that she had kept hidden all along— her work as a music composer. The actress revealed that she has multiple copyrights as a songwriter.
Goo explained that she has been composing New Age music for about 20 years and has about 58 songs registered to date. Though the music might not be particularly well known to the public, some of it has been used by television variety shows as background music.
Aside from that, her music is also played at commercial public spaces, such as cafes and hospitals, thanks to which, she continues to earn royalties.
Goo Hye Sun reflected on her reason for registering her creative works and protecting them through the copyright system. For her, it’s not about the money as much as it is about the spiritual fulfillment of being able to look back on her life and be able to see a concrete body of intellectual property created by her.
Meanwhile, Goo Hye Sun has proven herself to be a multifaceted talent, having transitioned from an acting career to academia first. After graduating from Sungkyunkwan University’s Department of Film, TV, and Multimedia, she went on to pursue graduate studies at KAIST. She also recently launched her patented hair roller, Kooroll, after securing a Master’s in engineering from KAIST.
