MAYU of Little Glee Monster | Sony Music
MAYU is a member of Little Glee Monster, a J-Pop idol girl group that formed in 2013. Since their debut, the group’s popularity has continued to climb, with their fifth album, Flava, peaking at number one on Oricon and Japan’s Billboard charts. After two of the original members withdrew for health reasons, Watanabe Entertainment and Sony Music held auditions that resulted in three new singers joining in November 2022. MAYU is one of the original members.

On June 11, Little Glee Monster’s management announced MAYU’s hiatus in an official statement posted on the group’s website. They stated that during a commemorative event for the release of Little Glee Monster’s latest single, MAYU became unwell while performing, forcing the event to be halted midway. Following the incident, she underwent a medical examination, and her condition has since stabilized, with no major health concerns reported. The management and staff extended sincere apologies to fans and everyone involved for the worry caused by the incident.

In consultation with her doctor, MAYU will take a break from activities to focus on her recovery. As a result, Little Glee Monster will continue their activities in the meantime with a five-member lineup.
