It’s the album “they don’t want you to hear.”

More than 50% of the songs on an upcoming album have been banned in Korea due to their R-rated content.

    from20 | Way Better

Raehwan, formerly known as a member of the K-Pop group BIGSTAR, is now performing as from20, a soloist under Way Better. He made his solo debut in 2021. Now, his upcoming album, Rated R, is living up to its name.

Seven of its thirteen tracks were deemed unsuitable for broadcast by KBS, South Korea’s major public broadcaster, due to lyrics containing profanity, vulgar language, or sexually suggestive content. KBS’s review process screens songs for television and radio airplay, flagging content that doesn’t align with their guidelines. While the banned tracks won’t appear on KBS programs, they are still set for full release, allowing fans to experience the unfiltered vision on platforms like Spotify and through other promotional channels.

A detailed review table shared online reveals the extent of the restrictions. Tracks like “Eye Candy (Remastered)”, “Scandal”, “Wet Bed”, “Naked”, “BIG BOY”, and others received “ineligible” markings. Reasons cited include explicit sexual descriptions, overly provocative expressions, and strong language.

The album’s title, Rated R, appears deliberately chosen, signaling from20’s intention to embrace adult themes, and his promotions for it have reflected this. On social media, from20 is advertising Rated R as “The album they don’t want you to hear.” It will drop on June 26.
