The actor posted a photo of his official academic status on the university’s database, which had been changed to “graduated,” complete with a crying emoji.
On this day, the degree conferral ceremony for the second semester of the 2025 academic year took place at Hanyang’s Seoul campus. Ahead of the ceremony, banners celebrating Jang’s much-awaited graduation were hung all across the campus.
Jang Dong Yoon enrolled in Hanyang University’s Department of Economics and Finance in 2011. During his tenure as a student, he made headlines in 2015 after apprehending a robber at a convenience store in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. This led to his big break, as his handsome face gained him major online attention. He made his entertainment industry debut the following year.
After getting busy with his career, Jang was unable to complete his degree. Last year, during a YouTube appearance, the actor lamented that he had been in his fourth year of university for ten years in a row. Now, at the age of 34, the actor is finally able to don the graduation gown, marking a major milestone.
