In the past, ILLIT’s hanbok photoshoots have been the center of criticism, especially amid the feud with NewJeans and HYBE.

Korean Netizens Accuse ILLIT Of Plagarizing NewJeans’ Unique Hanbok Photoshoot

On February 17, ILLIT posted some new photos in customized hanboks by designer Kim Min Ju.

The members showed off their visuals to celebrate Lunar New Year.

Yet, when the photos were posted, they went viral on theqoo with over 1000 comments within a few hours, as netizens had wildly mixed opinions on the styling and photoshoot.

While some thought the members looked beautiful, others hit back at the photos’ composition, and others didn’t like the hanbok’s interpretation in terms of design. Yet, many netizens noticed the barrage of hateful comments towards the ILLIT members, sharing love and support for the members.

    • ILLIT are so pretty

    • They’re all so pretty lol. The hanbok is pretty too.

    • They look like princesses. So pretty.

    • The clothes are pretty, but the overall pictorial composition is kind of awkward lol. Maybe they were lacking good references

    | theqoo

    • It’s cute. This hanbok concept is cute too.

    • It’s really pretty lol. The ones throwing a fit here seriously need to think about their age lol. It’s just a Lunar New Year pictorial, and you’re nitpicking about the quality and the composition and all that crap, lol.

    • The aesthetic sense is bad. With ILLIT’s visuals, I feel like they could’ve styled those outfits in a much prettier way.

    | theqoo

    • What even is this? It’s not even a hanbok. It doesn’t look like a hanbok. It looks like underwear, like something a Chinese influencer would wear, like an apron. What part of that is a hanbok? What even are those clothes? No sense of style at all. This is ridiculous.
