In their latest YouTube video, Epik High’s Tablo called out the contract that allegedly kept the group from receiving digital music revenue from one of their biggest songs.

The video, uploaded May 21, 2026 (KST), showed members Tablo, Tukutz, and Mithra Jin visiting a storage unit filled with items they had packed away after leaving YG Entertainment and becoming independent. According to Tablo, the group had been in such a rush that they simply put everything from their studio and office into storage.

We were in a rush, so we just threw everything into storage and went independent. That’s why we don’t even know what’s inside.

    — Tablo

What started as a nostalgic “treasure hunt,” though, quickly took a more serious turn when the members discovered an old exclusive contract from their debut days. The contract, dated September 23, 2003, immediately sparked a strong reaction from Tablo.

Epik High debuted in October 2003 after signing with Woollim Entertainment, which was a newly established agency at the time, and releasing their first full-length album, Map of the Human Soul. As soon as Tablo saw the exclusive contract dated September 23, 2003, he couldn’t hide his shock. “Because of this contract, I made ‘FLY’ and didn’t receive a single cent,” Tablo said.

Because of this damn contract, we didn’t receive even one cent of digital music revenue.

    — Tablo

“FLY,” released in 2005, is widely considered one of Epik High’s signature tracks and played a major role in the group’s rise. The revelation shocked viewers, as Tablo made it clear that despite the song’s success, the members allegedly did not receive the earnings they should have from its digital music revenue.

While the video began with the members laughing over old belongings, the discovery of the contract left a much more bitter impression, with Tablo openly expressing his anger over the former agency agreement that he says cost them the revenue from one of their biggest hits.
