A Korean star couple clarified the large bruise around their 4-year-old son’s eye after being misunderstood.
On September 18th, a video titled “Making Watermelon Slush to Wrap Up a Chaotic Summer” was posted on the YouTube channel JAM2 HOUSE.
In the video, Moon Hee Joon mentioned his son Hee Woo’s bruise, saying, “We need to explain why the bruise appeared around his eye. We were misunderstood.”
Hee Woo appeared with one eye surrounded by a dark bruise. Soyul explained the cause directly.
She said, “He rolled around on the sofa like this, and the iPad fell on his eye, causing the bruise,” smiling in disbelief.
Moon Hee Joon described the situation, saying, “It’s been almost three weeks now. It landed right above the eyebrow, then a bump appeared, and the bruise gradually spread down until it fully reached his eye.”
He added, “Honestly, it was really dark and severe at first. It’s somewhat faded now, which might have caused some misunderstanding,” expressing concern about people’s reactions.
Soyul also said, “We were misunderstood and even had to go to the emergency room.”
Moon Hee Joon also shared a situation that made Hee Woo’s misunderstanding even worse. “Do you know why Hee Woo was misunderstood more?” he asked, then recounted an incident.
He said, “At the toy store, he was playing around a lot, so mom said, ‘You shouldn’t do that,’ but he pleaded, ‘Please don’t scold me, don’t scold me,’” describing Hee Woo’s desperate plea to his mother.
He explained, “But since his eye was dark and bruised, people might have thought something was wrong. They probably thought mom was a scary mom, right?” highlighting how the situation could easily be misinterpreted.
Moon Hee Joon repeated, “They thought mom was a scary mom, right?” emphasizing the misunderstandings people might have had.
Soyul expressed her frustration, saying, “I really have never seen a child with a bruise like this around the eye.”
Moon Hee Joon mentioned Hee Woo’s energetic personality as well, saying, “Our son can’t afford to be distracted for even a moment.” He added with a laugh, “Things are peaceful one second, then suddenly he gets hurt.”
Afterward, Moon Hee Joon said, “So let’s treat the bruise and also beautifully wrap up the summer by preparing the ingredients,” and began preparing with his family to make a summer fruit punch.
Meanwhile, Moon Hee Joon, originally a member of H.O.T., married Soyul, who is 13 years his junior and originally a member of Crayon Pop, in 2017. They have one son and one daughter.
