A Korean star experienced the subway for the first time in her life at age 42, shocking staff members and viewers.
On September 30, a video titled “Going to a schedule wearing 15cm kill heels on the subway revealed for the first time (+ insanely funny, ten-thousand won happiness)” was released on YouTube.
Invited to Seoul Fashion Week, the production team suggested a “ten-thousand won happiness” challenge to Seo In Young. Seo In Young confidently said, “It’s okay. I can survive anyway. I don’t eat. There’s nowhere else to spend it. My manager drives me,” but the team drew the line, allowing only public transportation.
Seo In Young said, “It’s really my birthday today. Are you going to do this? But I’ve never taken the subway before.” When the production team replied, “Don’t lie,” not believing her, she answered, “It’s true. I only took the bus when I went to school. I don’t even know how to buy a ticket.”
The team asked, “How did you get around when you were in Apgujeong back in the day?” Seo In Young replied, “I took the bus and then a taxi. My mother gave me quite a bit of pocket money.”
When the team responded, “You lived quite lavishly?” Seo In Young confessed, “I did when I was young. Then my mom went through some hard times.”

Calculating fuel efficiency, Seo In Young traveled from home to Dongdaemun by stylist’s car and struggled with how to buy subway tickets and understood nothing of the refund explanation, saying, “I don’t get a word of it.”
The production team sympathized, saying, “You really haven’t taken the subway before. There are people like that. It makes sense. You debuted at such a young age.”
Seo In Young went to the subway station to travel from Dongdaemun to Jamsil and asked a citizen for help to buy a single-use transportation card, but was flustered in front of the gate, saying, “There’s nothing to insert?” Wearing kill heels, she went down the stairs but missed the subway. After many twists and turns along with a crowd at 5 p.m., Seo In Young finally boarded the subway.
