A Korean supermodel revealed the traumatic lifestyle she had while her career was at its peak.
MBC‘s So Ra and Jin Kyung showcased the emotional reunion between Lee So Ra and Hong Jin Kyung, along with their intense reboot challenge to conquer the Paris runway. In the premiere episode on the 26th, the two planned their attempt to reach the pinnacle of high-end fashion: Paris Fashion Week.
That day, Lee So Ra recalled the difficult times, saying, “At first, I thought it was impossible. When I was working as a fashion model, I went through extreme dieting.”
She shared, “It was horrific. I went without food all day and survived on one can of tuna a day for two weeks,” adding, “My body trembled. I wondered if I was going to die. It remains a painful trauma.” She opened up about the traumatic experiences from the grueling diet she endured as a model.
Lee So Ra decided to take on the challenge, saying, “Still, I want the memories of modeling, which remain as trauma, to stay as positive memories through imagination.”
Later, looking at photos from when she participated in a supermodel contest, she revealed, “Did I look skeletal? I lost 8kg in just two weeks by eating only one apple a day,” surprising many. She added, “It was painful. I could only do it because I was young. I weighed 54kg, the lowest weight of my life,” drawing attention.
