Recently, LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin came under criticism for her live vocals.

At the 2025 Golden Disc Awards, Yunjin was selected to perform a solo, a special rendition of “Like Rain, Like Music” by Kim Hyun Sik.

Fans were highly proud of the idol, for being selected to cover the popular track. However, the her version did not entirely sit right with netizens, who criticized her live vocals.

Since the performance, more criticism has continued to come in, questioning more than just Yunjin’s vocal skills.

On one viral post of her cover, many shared their opinion that she had “regressed” vocally from when she competed on Produce 48.

LE SSERAFIM have been the subject of criticism of their live vocals on more than one occasion, and have gained attention for their efforts to respond to constructive criticism. In Yunjin’s case, many feel she is a good vocalist, but that being a HYBE idol is the cause of the alleged regression.

In the past, Bang Si Hyuk has stated that star power ranked higher than talent for idols, which has only served to solidify this opinion.

Some even felt that the standards across all groups for vocals has been lowered, in addition to the K-Pop system playing a part in the vocal skills of new idols.

While unrelated hate is not encouraged, constructive criticism comes from hoping improvement will be made, which appears to be the case in this situation.
