Leftist Wh*re!”: Actress Gets Flooded With Hate Comments After Calling Protesters “Weirdos

Her Instagram has become a battleground.

Actress Park Bo Young has responded after being flooded with demands to speak out about South Korea’s recent ballot shortage controversy—but her response is only fueling further hate comments.

On June 7, 2026 (KST), Park Bo Young sent messages to fans via a fan communication platform, reassuring them after seeing what was being left on her social media. “I like you guys a lot, too. Have a good day today,” she wrote.

She then added comments about how she wasn’t “affected” by the “weirdos” at all.

Haha. I only realized after seeing bubble messages about it. What a bunch of weirdos. Don’t worry about it. (I’m just not that affected by them…)

    — Park Bo Young

These comments came after Park Bo Young’s personal social media account had been flooded with comments demanding that she address the protests surrounding the Jamsil vote-counting center blockade—just like she addressed the protests against former president Yoon Suk Yeol.

The current controversy began after several polling stations in Seoul, including parts of Gangnam, Gwangjin, and Songpa, reportedly ran out of ballots during the June 3 local elections. At some affected polling stations, voters were forced to wait, while others were reportedly unable to cast their votes.

The issue has since grown into a larger political controversy. In Songpa’s Jamsil 7-dong, protesters demanding that the vote count be stopped and that a new election be held blocked the removal of ballot boxes. Two ballot boxes were eventually removed after around 35 hours, while protests continued around the Olympic Park Handball Gymnasium, the vote-counting center for the Jamsil area.

However, the protests have not been received the same way as last year’s rallies calling for the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol following his martial law declaration. Part of the reason is that while the ballot shortage itself is being treated as a serious election-management failure, the protests that followed have taken on a more politically charged tone. Demonstrators at the Jamsil site demanded that the vote count be stopped, called for the election to be invalidated, and physically blocked ballot boxes from being moved, with Reuters reporting that conservative YouTubers were also among those fueling the calls for a re-run. Because the protest quickly became associated with far-right election-fraud rhetoric rather than just criticism of the ballot shortage, many netizens have argued that it cannot be compared directly to the mass protests against martial law.

Back when the mass protests against martial law were happening, several celebrities showed support for citizens by sending messages, prepaying for food and drinks, or otherwise encouraging protesters. Park Bo Young had also previously expressed support during the martial law and impeachment protests.

Because of that, some people have gone to the social media accounts of stars who previously supported impeachment protesters and demanded that they also speak up about the ballot shortage protests. Other celebrities, including IU, Lee Dong Wook, and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri, have also reportedly received similar demands from protesters asking them to provide prepaid food and drinks.

In Park Bo Young’s case, commenters criticized her for staying silent this time. Others accused her of having “selective justice” for not publicly commenting on the current controversy.

    • Please say something about the ballot shortage situation!
    • Park Bo Young, the socially conscious celebrity LMAO. You don’t have a single socially conscious thing to say about this situation? LOL LOL LOL. Hilarious, so fake LOL.
    • Selective democracy 😭
    • Leftist wh*re, seriously.
    • I wonder what it was that turned this tiny b*tch into a leftist.
    • Aren’t you going to pay for coffee in Jamsil? Are you still going to act like you’re socially conscious? Haha.
    • You’re not giving your opinion on this election situation?? You acted like a socially conscious celebrity, but I guess it was selective justice.
    • I heard you were a socially conscious celebrity, so I came here, but you don’t have a single thing to say about this local election? Say something, anything.

And when Park Bo Young appeared unfazed by the pressure? Well, it seems to have set off the protesters even more.

    • LMAO. Your selective democracy speaks volumes. “Not affected” my a*s LOL. Crazy.
    • Voting rights, the flower of democracy, were restricted and taken away. Are you not going to speak out about this??
    • Big mistake calling us weirdos, LMAO.
