I don’t know what the opposite of hitting a lottery twice is, maybe fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me? Because that feels so apropos to describe what just happened to K-star Lee Seung Gi. The actor-singer this week sued the CEO Cha Ga Won of his agency One Hundred Label for fraud and breach of contract. The allegations are that she and her husband rented a luxury condo to Lee Seung Gi and he paid her over $5 million USD in earnest money (i.e. deposit) which she then used and now the lease is up is refusing to return it to him. She is also under investigation for a host of improprieties with the agency itself, from not paying her artists salaries and making deals with brands for her artists and taking the money from the other companies and then not performing the work. This also impacts Lee Seung Gi as an artist signed to this agency and not getting paid what he is owed. This marks the second time Lee Seung Gi has been mistreated and defrauded by his own agency as he sued his first agency when he left a few years ago and then signed with this one. His star has definitely paused/dimmed the last few years mostly due to his marriage to actress Lee Da In and her association to her stepfather who was convicted of massive securities fraud and manipulation.
