Reasons to watch: The latest addition to dramaland is a webtoon adaptation from tvN, starring Kim Hye-joon and Kang Hoon, with Cha Woo-min taking the role of second lead. My Bias My Boss takes us into the center of a brewing love triangle at a trendy fashion company.
The fashion company was founded by a former idol and his best friend, played by Cha Woo-min and Kang Hoon respectively. The two men have built the company up, and during their latest recruitment for employees, Kim Hye-joon throws her hat into the ring. Kim’s interest in fashion was inspired by none other than Cha himself, her ultimate idol bias. It seems like the dream job: she’ll get to do work she loves while sharing the same air with her Oppa. While she lands the job, her first day at work is a total disaster where she manages to get on the radar of her bias and her boss in spectacular fashion.
It’s unsurprising that she’d start to feel a certain way about getting to know and work with her idol…it is surprising that he’s not the only one who makes her heart pound. Kang Hoon may be her boss, but she finds herself drawn to him and the feeling is entirely mutual. Though everyone may try to keep their relationships professional, it’s only a matter of time before someone thinks with their heart and makes their move.
This looks like a fun, breezy drama about the joys (and perils) of the work-fangirl-life balance, and could be the antidote to any Monday blues. I’m also drawn to the cast, as I’ve been a big fan of Kim Hye-joon ever since I saw her in Kingdom and I’ve been waiting for her to get a lead role that’s a little more light-hearted than her usual projects (like the currently airing A Shop for Killers 2).
