According to News1 on the 20th, Park Jung Bo, chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, said at a regular press conference held at the Seoul Police Agency building in Naeja-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, “The investigation into Chairman Bang Si Hyuk is almost complete,” adding, “We are reviewing the legal aspects and expect to conclude it in the near future.”
Regarding reports related to Chairman Bang the previous day, he withheld comment, saying, “There has been no request to the Seoul Police Agency so far.” This refers to recent reports that the U.S. Embassy in Korea sent a letter requesting cooperation to allow Bang, who is under investigation by the police for “fraudulent unfair trading” and currently subject to a travel ban, to visit the United States.
