On October 30th, the official social media account of Daily Fashion News released footage of Nam Joo Hyuk attending a jewelry brand event at Shinsegae Department Store Centum City branch in Busan.
The video featured the phrase “POV: Having an eye battle with Nam Joo Hyuk” and showed Nam Joo Hyuk staring intently into the camera. Wearing a brown jacket paired with a white shirt, he maintained eye contact with the camera and gave a faint smile.
What stood out especially was his eyes, which appeared different from before. Nam Joo Hyuk, who had shown a soft impression with barely visible double eyelids, displayed a distinct double eyelid line in this video, creating a deeper and more intense atmosphere.
The sudden change sparked online speculation that he might have had double eyelid surgery. However, some suggested that as he ages, the flesh around his eyelids naturally reduced, making his double eyelids more prominent.

Meanwhile, Nam Joo Hyuk completed his military service in September 2024 and returned with the Netflix series The East Palace, playing the role of Gu Cheon, who can see spirits and has the ability to cut them with a sword.
