Actor Hong Min Gi has officially taken legal action against his former girlfriend following a series of explosive allegations concerning their past relationship.
On August 27, Hong Min Gi’s agency, Fable Company, announced that the actor had filed criminal complaints against his former girlfriend on August 21 and 24. According to the agency, the complaints include allegations of forgery of private documents, attempted extortion, online defamation, and violations of South Korea’s anti-stalking law.
The legal action follows an increasingly public dispute between the former couple. She previously claimed online that she had experienced dating violence while in a relationship with Hong Min Gi, including allegations that the actor threw a soju bottle and physically assaulted her.
She subsequently made additional claims concerning their relationship, including stating that she had undergone an abortion in July and indicating that she would release medical records related to the procedure. Hong Min Gi’s side previously acknowledged that the two had been in a relationship but strongly denied the allegations of dating violence, announcing that the actor intended to respond through legal channels.
The situation reportedly escalated further on August 23. According to Fable Company, A allegedly went to Hong Min Gi’s home in Itaewon at approximately 2am.

Police were reportedly dispatched to the scene.
“She once again came to the actor’s Itaewon residence at around 2am on August 23, rang the doorbell, cried loudly, and shouted profanities.”
According to the agency’s account, police subsequently requested assistance from emergency services, and she was ultimately transported away in an ambulance. Authorities also reportedly imposed emergency measures under South Korea’s anti-stalking legislation that same day. A restraining order prohibits her from coming within 100 meters (approximately 328 feet) of Hong Min Gi and also prohibit her from contacting or approaching him through telecommunications.
The case has attracted particular attention because both sides have presented dramatically different accounts of their former relationship.
While she has publicly accused Hong Min Gi of serious misconduct during their relationship, the actor has denied the dating violence allegations and is now accusing his former partner of multiple offenses herself.
