A female singer took over headlines in South Korea after marking her return home for the first time in 10 years.

The singer in question is G.NA, a popular soloist from the second generation of K-Pop.

On March 4, KST, the singer posted several photos on Instagram, capturing candid moments of herself at a restaurant. Though she didn’t directly mention her return to Korea, fans could tell from a sign in the background. She also shared a picture of herself in a recording studio, hinting at possible new music.

Born in 1987, G.NA is a Canadian-Korean artist who made her debut in 2010. She rose to prominence with hits like “Black and White” and “Top Girl.”

However, in 2016, she was embroiled in a controversy involving overseas prostitution. Though she explained that it was a “relationship based on mutual attraction,” she was fined ₩2.00 million KRW (about $1,350 USD) for violating the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts. Consequently, G.NA disappeared from the entertainment industry for 10 years and moved abroad.

Since the singer has maintained a very low profile until now, her recent social media updates have left fans baffled. Meanwhile, the singer spoke candidly about her scandal last year in an Instagram post. Read more about it here:
