KBS has officially lined up A Love Other Than Yours (previously, Dating Someone Else Not You) for the coming fall schedule, weaving a tale of romance with Seo Kang-joon (Boyfriend on Demand) and Ahn Eun-jin (Dynamite Kiss) in the first script reading and character stills.
When our story begins, though, it’s already been more than 10 years since our leads had their meet-cute and eventually fell in love. And now, after years of sharing each other’s for better and for worse, Namgoong Ho (Seo Kang-joon) and Lee Mi-do (Ahn Eun-jin) are as close as close can be and have also reached a comfortable stage. But while this is a good thing, it raises the somewhat uncomfortable question of what next step to take in their relationship.
During this uncertainty, Mi-do also hits a wall in her career as a film director, when the investor on her current project falls through. To cap it all off, she is then unceremoniously let go by the production company’s lawyer Han Tae-seung, played Lee Joo-ahn (Dream to You). But despite the nature of their meeting, Tae-seung’s interest is sparked. And it’s not unmutual.
Our hero, on the other hand, works a corporate job in the position of assistant manager. And although he has been utterly devoted to only Mi-do all this time, even Namgoong Ho can’t help but feel a little strange as he starts to get to know his junior colleague Jo Ah-ram (To the Moon), in the role of Park Soo-ah.
Filling out our story world, Kim Mi-kyung (Phantom Lawyer) takes on the part of Mi-do’s mom. And she certainly has her hands full with three (adult) kids to worry over. Her eldest (Mi-do’s older brother) is Kim Nam-hee (A Bona Fide Killer) and the youngest (Mi-do’s younger brother) is Lee Min-jae (My Troublesome Star). The supporting cast also includes Namgoong Ho’s boss Lee Jun-hyuk (Spooky in Love) among other talents.
Production for the series has PD Hwang Seung-ki (The Matchmakers) and PD Lee Ga-ram co-directing, alongside scripts by Yoo Su-ji (Somehow 18). Broadcasting on weekends starting next month, KBS’s A Love Other Than Yours is slated to premiere on September 12 and will be available for international streaming on Amazon Prime.
