On March 24, SHINee’s Onew appeared on a YouTube channel with TVXQ’s Changmin and opened up about his health issues.
On the topic of food, Changmin asked, “I heard you like sweet things.” Onew responded, “I’ve come to love sweets so much. There was a time I thought I could just live off of sweets. I could survive on just eating cake.”
Changmin also expressed concern, stating, “I was really worried when you lost a lot of weight.”
Onew explained, “My health was deteriorating significantly back then.”
As Changmin continued to express worry, Onew reassured him.
These days, I’m exercising regularly and following a proper diet.

Last year, Onew temporarily suspended activities after the release of SHINee’s eighth studio album. It seems that his health issues, which caused much concern among fans, were related to an unbalanced diet centered on sweet foods.
Meanwhile, Onew is preparing to hold his solo fan meeting at the KBS Arena next month.
