Sohn Hyun-joo is Reborn Rookie into Lee Jun-young

Heading into premiere week on JTBC, our Reborn Rookie hero declares that body-swap be damned in the latest poster and teasers. Because whether he’s Sohn Hyun-joo (The WONDERfools) or Lee Jun-young (Pump Up the Healthy Love), he’s determined to put things right and claim his company again.
First, though, we backtrack to when the rising athlete Hwang Joon-hyun (Lee Jun-young) had been signed on to play in Choiseong’s football (soccer) club. And just when he shares the happy news with grandma, Joon-hyun sadly becomes the victim of a hit-and-run, effectively destroying his football dreams.
As it turns out, the car belongs to Choiseong’s Chairman Kang Yong-ho (Sohn Hyun-joo) and double trouble – Jeon Hye-jin (Mother and Mom) and Jin Gu (Moon River) – take advantage by manipulating the evidence and make it seem like Dad was the driver. But though the chairman is angry, it seems he’s not willing to expose the twins as the true culprit.
Yong-ho then offends Joon-hyun by attempting to buy him out with monetary compensation. And the latter decides he’d rather devote his efforts to making Choiseong crumble. However, this is of course when the drama fates swoop in with a head-clashing accident and a body-swap between our two opposing leads.
With his new outer shell, Yong-ho finagles a nepo-position at Choiseong. But he’s upset to see the incompetence and corruption that has been brewing in the business, beneath his notice. He’s also shocked to discover that his youngest daughter Lee Joo-myung (My Youth) has been secretly working at his company under an alias.
But seeing as she’s not evil – unlike her siblings – Kang Bang-geul (Lee Joo-myung) is soon teaming up with Dad, along with department head Lee Sung-wook (XO, Kitty 3), to somehow take back Choiseong and give the corporate throne to more-deserving owners.
Broadcasting in JTBC’s weekend slot, the webnovel-adaptation premieres on May 30 this week. Production for Reborn Rookie has PD Go Hye-jin (My Youth) and writer Hyun Ji-min (Pandora: Beneath the Paradise) leading the team.
