It has been belatedly confirmed that THE BOYZ has filed a lawsuit seeking an injunction to nullify their contract against their agency, ONE HUNDRED. This is also the first time the group’s legal action has been made public.
They are demanding the termination of the contract due to a breach of trust regarding unpaid settlements. Meanwhile, the agency’s response is that the payment was merely delayed and will be completed.
On April 20, the first hearing of the lawsuit between THE BOYZ and the agency was held at the 50th Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court.
THE BOYZ’s attorney requested that the court “expeditiously grant the application for an injunction to ensure stable activities,” and that the “relationship of trust regarding the exclusive contract cannot be restored.”
During the hearing, the group also claimed that they had proceeded with concerts using the members’ personal funds and advance payments from related companies without any help from the agency.
THE BOYZ also emphasized that the agency failed to settle service fees totaling approximately ₩5.50 billion KRW (about $3.75 million USD) with external companies.
However, the agency argued that the non-payment of settlement funds was only a temporary delay and that it was not intentional. They added that they plan to pay the amount, including a 6% delayed interest.
Netizens were in disbelief at the way things were being handled.
