[CONCERT RECAP] PLAVE Made Singapore Feel Like Their World At KEEP IT MANIC

With playful Singlish, five solo covers and a little Singapore sightseeing talk, PLAVE turned their first Singapore concert into an afternoon full of music, laughter and memories made with PLLIs.

Sometimes, it is the little things that make a concert feel unforgettable: a favourite song performed live, a joke that sends the crowd into laughter, or an artist trying out a local expression just to make fans smile.

At PLAVE’s first Singapore concert at APEX @ EXPO on 17 October, those moments came alongside a setlist spanning the group’s musical journey. The five-member group brought Singapore PLLIs together for their KEEP IT MANIC world tour, moving between familiar tracks, individual cover stages and playful conversations that made the afternoon feel distinctly Singaporean.

There was plenty to enjoy in the music itself. But it was also the way PLAVE connected with the audience — from embracing Singlish to asking about places to visit in Singapore — that gave this stop its own personality.

For fans, it was an opportunity not just to hear the songs they love, but to share a little piece of their world with PLAVE.

From familiar favourites to a world of their own

PLAVE opened with “The 6th Summer,” “Hide and Seek” and “WAY 4 LUV,” bringing together songs that have become meaningful parts of the group’s catalogue.

The opening stretch also showed how much the visual world surrounding PLAVE’s music could add to the concert experience. During “Hide and Seek,” the scenery shifted between a nature-inspired landscape, a city and a theme park, giving the performance a sense of movement beyond the song itself. “WAY 4 LUV” brought its own celebratory moment, with confetti adding to the atmosphere.

The set continued with “Blossom Parade,” “HMPH!” and “Chroma Drift.” The latter offered one of the afternoon’s more imaginative visuals, with a cello appearing to float above the stage and a member perched on it during the performance.

These moments were part of the appeal of seeing PLAVE’s songs brought to life in concert. The changing scenery and unexpected visuals gave individual tracks their own identities, while the music remained at the centre of the experience.

Five solo covers, five different moods

The concert also made room for the members to step away from the group repertoire and explore songs by other artists.

YEJUN performed The Carpenters’ “Close to You,” followed by EUNHO’s rendition of JUNNY’s “taste.” HAMIN then took on HOSHI’s “Spider,” before the set moved back to group performances with “Watch Me Woo!” and “RIZZ.”

Later, NOAH performed TXT’s “Good Boy Gone Bad,” while BAMBY rounded out the solo covers with SHINee’s “Sherlock.”

The covers brought different musical styles into the concert, from the warmth of a classic love song to the intensity of performance-led K-pop. Each selection also gave fans a chance to appreciate the members individually before the show returned to PLAVE’s own music.

“Super shiok”: PLAVE speaks Singapore’s language

If the performances brought fans together through music, the audience interactions gave the concert a distinctly local flavour.

BAMBY invited everyone to make the day “super shiok” together, while HAMIN told the audience they were so cute that he “cannot tahan.” EUNHO joined the fun by praising the “yandaos” and “chiobus” in the crowd — and then cheekily asking whether PLAVE were yandao too.

The exchanges were playful, affectionate and unmistakably Singaporean. Rather than relying on grand declarations, the members connected with fans through expressions familiar to the audience, turning Singlish into a shared joke between the stage and the crowd.

One particularly fitting moment came after the audience’s enthusiastic response to “Born Savage,” when YEJUN responded with “Steady lah.” The phrase was short, but it captured the spirit of the exchange: the members acknowledged the crowd’s energy in a way that felt right at home in Singapore.

The local connection extended beyond the jokes. When the members asked fans for food and travel recommendations, NOAH shared that he wanted to visit Gardens by the Bay to see its nighttime show, imagining how beautiful it would be.

It was a small but endearing detail. For fans, hearing a member express interest in a familiar local landmark offered another point of connection — a reminder that a concert can be about more than the time spent on stage. It can also be about the places, expressions and experiences that artists and fans share with one another.

Back to the songs that bring everyone together

After the solo stages and “Watch Me Woo!” and “RIZZ,” PLAVE returned to their group repertoire with “BUT YOUR IDOL” and “Virtual Idol,” followed by “Dash” and “Born Savage.”

The setlist continued with “Pump Up The Volume!,” bringing an earlier release into an afternoon that had already drawn from several parts of the group’s discography.

Later came “Pixel World,” “Think I Am,” “Our Movie,” “Star Trace” and “Lunar Hearts.” During “Pixel World,” each member had a hovering emoji that produced colourful plus signs when touched — a quirky visual detail that matched the playful spirit of the song.

The setlist moved between different moods without losing its sense of cohesion. There were energetic group performances, imaginative stage effects and lighter moments that gave fans room to enjoy the members’ personalities. Together, they offered a broad look at PLAVE’s music while keeping the focus on the shared experience of the concert.

One last song, one shared memory

The afternoon closed with “Wait for You,” bringing the concert to a fitting end with a song that holds a place in PLAVE’s earlier discography.

The closing moments also offered an opportunity to preserve the occasion, with PLAVE taking a photo alongside the audience. For a first Singapore concert, it was a simple but meaningful keepsake: a moment shared between the group and the fans who had gathered to welcome them.

A little more than a concert

PLAVE’s Singapore debut brought together the many things that make following a group rewarding: the anticipation of hearing favourite songs live, the excitement of seeing individual members take the spotlight and the unexpected moments that become memories long after the final song.

The solo covers offered a different perspective on each member, while the changing stage visuals gave the group’s music an imaginative dimension. Yet it was the local banter that made this particular stop feel especially personal. “Super shiok,” “cannot tahan” and “steady lah” were more than passing jokes; they were small ways for PLAVE to meet Singapore PLLIs on familiar ground.

NOAH’s wish to see Gardens by the Bay added another human touch, while the audience photo gave fans a tangible memory of the afternoon they shared with the group.

When “Wait for You” ended and the concert drew to a close, what remained was not simply a list of songs performed. It was the feeling of having been part of a moment that belonged to PLAVE and Singapore PLLIs together.

For one afternoon at APEX @ EXPO, Singapore felt a little closer to PLAVE’s world — and PLAVE’s world felt a little more like home.
