Recently, popular girl group i-dle announced the cancellation of a leg of their world tour.
4th Gen Girl Group Abruptly Cancels Entire Tour With No Explanation, Sparking Shock And Fury
i-dle announced the start of their world tour back in February, along with a North American leg scheduled for August 2026. These dates were canceled in mid-April, shocking fans of the group over the unexpected announcement.
This has sparked discussions over concert ticket sales in general, using another group’s “low” sales in comparison.
Last year, IVE began their second world tour Show What Am I, and have already announced additional tour dates. Along with concerts in Asia, the group also announced North American dates across Canada and the United States.

When looking at the groups sales, some of the dates have tickets remaining than what one might expect, including VIP packages.
This was brought up on a discussion post questioning K-Pop’s continued draw overseas, where netizens weighed in.
While some agreed that K-Pop has lost popularity overall, others pointed to economic factors affecting ticket buyers, including a steadily rising cost of living.
- “These days the U.S. economy is struggling, so even domestic artists are canceling.”
- “Even looking at K-pop as a whole, only a small number of groups really do well in North America.”
- “If I try to analyze it myself, I think consumption has decreased due to rising oil prices caused by war. Oil prices worldwide are rising to unimaginable levels. So people have no choice but to cut back on spending, and I think it’s natural that spending on concerts would decrease.”
