A top Korean star expressed concern while mentioning suspicions of AI involvement in a video of his second son playing the piano.
Recently, a video titled “AI suddenly ends conversation..? Living 24 hours following AI’s commands” was posted on the YouTube channel run by former H.O.T. member Moon Hee Jun and former Crayon Pop member Soyul. The video showed Moon Hee Jun, Soyul, and their two children chatting and playing with ChatGPT.
On that day, Soyul said to Moon Hee Jun, “Let’s try something fun today. We’ll live according to what AI plans for us—what to do, what dessert to eat, things like that.” Moon Hee Jun responded, “Personally, I don’t really like AI that much. Recently, a video of Bbo-bbo (second son) playing the piano was posted, and there were a lot of suspicious comments asking ‘Is this AI?’”
He added, “This doesn’t happen only to our videos; whenever a cute baby does something unbelievable or an animal behaves adorably, there are always comments questioning whether it’s AI,” expressing his worry.
Moon Hee Jun said, “It seems we are living in a world where it’s hard to tell what’s real even when it actually is. Advancement has come with side effects. AI also creates music; there are programs that assist with composition. Some use these to help write songs. Since it’s creative work, if you rely too much on AI, you might question whether the work is truly your own. It’s a bit of a dilemma. That’s why I don’t even take an interest in AI programs related to songwriting.”
However, he added, “I’m not against AI entirely. I think it’s fine to use it productively for coding and similar tasks, but I honestly don’t understand living a whole day following AI’s directions.” Soyul responded, “We just wanted to get simple recommendations or ask questions,” to which Moon Hee-jun replied, “Trying it for fun is okay, but even that makes me a bit worried.“
