According to reports on August 28, KST, Nayeon has signed a contract to acquire a land and building in Cheongnam-dong for ₩9.50 billion KRW (about $6.88 million USD). The purchase was made on May 3 of this year, and the ownership transfer was completed on August 24.

Reports claim that a mortgage with a maximum secured amount of ₩10.2 billion KRW (about $7.39 million USD) has been registered against the property. Though this number does not necessarily represent the exact amount Nayeon borrowed, it indicates that financing secured against the property was established.
As news of Nayeon’s new property purchase became public, the idol came under heavy public scrutiny for having made the purchase with a bank loan. Many netizens complained that she received an unfair advantage over the struggling ordinary population of the country.
