A Korean star revealed that she felt hurt both in pride and emotionally, and stopped contacting her now-fiancé, who’s an actor, for a while after his actions on a dating show.
On October 28th, the podcast Song Eun Yi And Kim Sook’s Secret Guarantee featured a phone call with Solbi, who announced her marriage to Lee Kyu Han. The couple met through KBS Joy and KBS2’s Old Friends Seeking Love, where they drew public attention.
Kim Sook asked Solbi, “Weren’t you strongly inclined to live alone? You weren’t exactly saying, ‘I’m going to get married,’ right?” Solbi replied, “That’s true, but I always thought about marriage because I wanted to have children.”
She continued, “Above all, I wanted to marry because I met someone who respected and supported what I do, someone who was completely on my side,” explaining her decision to marry Lee Kyu Han.
The reason Solbi called Lee Kyu Han “unworthy” when he postponed his final choice on Old Friends Seeking Love was also revealed. She explained, “It meant, ‘You clearly have feelings for me, so why don’t you make a choice?’ That’s why I said ‘unworthy.’”
She added, “In fact, I didn’t contact him much. I was hurt in my pride and feelings,” and continued, “He kept sending apples as an apology each season, and after he explained that to me, we started talking.”
Solbi shared, “I asked him if he was running something like an apple farm, and he said he kept sending apples because he felt sorry for not being able to make the final choice. I was willing to accept the apology someone gave, so I first enjoyed the apples. That’s how my heart began to open.”
Lee Kyu Han’s sincere efforts also played a part in bringing them closer. Solbi said, “After that, we started communicating, and when I was starting to get close with him, he paid and signed up for a painting class I was teaching. I was deeply touched at that time.”
Solbi and Lee Kyu Han will hold their wedding in April next year. The two developed their relationship into lovers after meeting on Old Friends Seeking Love last year and officially announced their marriage on the 15th.
