A Japanese woman has taken Korean online communities by storm with her unbelievable visual transformation after spending over ₩300 million KRW (about $223,000 USD) on plastic surgeries.
29-year-old Japanese influencer, Airi Hirase, has gone viral in Korea after a post on X (formerly Twitter) drew significant attention, showing the results of her extensive cosmetic surgeries.

Hirase first drew the world’s attention in 2024, when she publicly shared her journey of going under the knife more than 20 times, spending a fortune in the process. She confessed that her decision to completely alter her appearance was fueled by the trauma from her childhood abuse, particularly from her mother.

Hirase grew up in the Ibaraki prefecture, living with her mother, who constantly criticized her appearance by telling her that she resembled her father, the man who had betrayed her and left her with a massive debt. Her environment inevitably caused her to obsess over the urge to alter her appearance, leading her to believe that plastic surgery was the only way to leave her painful past behind.
At the age of 19, Hirase underwent her first cosmetic procedure, and eventually went on to alter her entire face. She also admitted to receiving breast augmentation surgery and jaw surgery. The influencer routinely shares her old photos on social media, documenting her journey.

The drastic difference between Hirase’s appearances before and after the surgeries has left Korean netizens fascinated. Many also expressed their sympathy and support for her, stating that her active efforts to change her unfavorable circumstances were inspiring.
