Yeri and Kang Sang-joon seek refuge in an Azure Spring

On the far and peaceful horizon of MBN’s Azure Spring, blue skies meet the blue seas in the new video teaser and stills, clearing the clouded hearts of our troubled two leads: Red Velvet’s Yeri (Bitch x Rich 2) as well as Kang Sang-joon (Filing for Love).
Competitive swimming had been a long-held dream for our Seo Anna (Yeri), until a recent injury clipped her once promising athletic career. And in fear of a future that is now uncertain without swimming, Anna searches for a haven off the beaten track and finds herself on an island ferry, sailing down to her mother’s hometown.
Here, Anna has her meet-cute with the cryptic haenam Yoon Deok-hyun (Kang Sang-joon). She’s thankful for his help but claims she already has a boyfriend – not that Deok-hyun asked – though it’s pretty clear that Anna does feel something for our diver hero. However, it’s also not just about the pretty or the swoons.
Deok-hyun, you see, has heavy baggage from his own past and similarly came to the island for a fresh perspective on what he should do. This led to becoming a haenam and, as her life-experience sunbae, he thus encourages Anna to allow herself time to heal. Feeling inspired by his example, the teaser then closes with Anna asking Deok-hyun to teach her the ways of a haenam/haenyeo.
Also starring Go Joo-hee (Bitch x Rich) and Jung Hyun-min (Assemblyman Detective Ki Do-kyung), the webtoon-adaptation will be diving into its 6-episode tale on May 11 next week. Production for the slice-of-life series has PD Jung Hun-soo (Branding in Seongsu) at the helm with scripts penned by Ha Jin.
