It was another starry night this week as the red carpet rolled out for the Blue Dragon Series Awards on Friday, July 31, which is now in year five since the expansion of the Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2022. Hosted once again by Jeon Hyun-moo and Yoon-ah, the ceremony would have been remiss if it didn’t include a special performance by this year’s foodie soldiers-turned-pseudo-idols – a.k.a. the Migak Boys – from The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, who were joined of course by their captain Lee Sang-yi.
Coincidentally, Song Geon-hee and Baek Sun-ho attended the event in military uniform as they’re both currently serving army duty. A special mention also for the adorably in love, real-life married couple Jin Seon-gyu and Park Bo-kyung.
Nominees (and winners) were selected from the plethora of drama and variety series content released on streaming platforms from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2026, and it’s no surprise that a good chunk are Netflix shows. But I’m glad to see that ENA’s The Scarecrow managed to score 6 nominations. But the night’s grand winner is Kim Go-eun, who really showcased her range and talent this past year, playing starkly different characters in You and Everything Else, The Price of Confession, in addition to Yumi’s Cells 3.
