    Netizens were not pleased.

Recently, it was confirmed that all reservations at the Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun have been largely blocked, as the hotel was fully booked ahead of BTS’s comeback stage on March 21.

It was revealed that Netflix, which secured the broadcasting rights for the concert, rented out the entire hotel for an extended period to prepare for a large-scale event, inviting key international figures. While accommodation demand is surging in anticipation of the event, the retail and tourism industries are focusing on the unusual situation in which hotels in the Gwanghwamun area are fully booked.

According to the retail and hotel industries, Netflix has rented the Four Seasons Hotel for two days (March 21-22) and is reported to be hosting an invitation-only gathering targeting global VIPs and content partners.

The hotel reportedly set an internal policy to reduce bookings by general guests, even though some rooms were available. Industry insiders explain, “Even if some rooms are vacant for formality, the operation is effectively being conducted at the same level as a full-fledged venue rental for the sake of operational control and security.”

Additionally, hotel access controls are expected to be significantly higher during the event. Entry by outsiders will be restricted, and guest movement patterns will be reorganized around VIP events.

Given the nature of the event hosted by a global content company, the security requirements are very high.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the BTS members will not be staying at the hotel. They are scheduled to travel from their respective homes, and the hotel will be used solely for the Netflix event and to host international VIPs.

However, netizens expressed frustration, as this would cause further inconvenience for citizens.

    • “I heard they made them cancel all the wedding reservations at the hotel.”
    • “Can you see the performance well from the hotel?”
    • “There’s still a lot of rooms available, why do they keep reporting that it’s fully booked?”
    • “Four Seasons is super expensive…all the international companies are taking our money.”
    • “So I guess this is an event that’s uncomfortable for the citizens, yet fun for the rich.
