Former Gugudan and I.O.I member, now actress, Kang Mina, shocked fans when she showed up for a press interview on April 29, looking virtually unrecognizable.
The star had undergone an insane transformation after losing 13 kilograms within two months.
When asked about it, Kang Mina revealed how it happened. First of all, she emphasized that she had not used any injections.
I lost a lot of weight. After Girigo wrapped, I took my time and gradually lost it over two to three months while preparing for my next project. I’m currently in maintenance mode.
I want to clear something up just in case there’s any misunderstanding… I absolutely did not get any injections.

So how did she do it? Mostly through diet. She says she went through a stretch where she simply had no appetite and leaned into it. It got to the point where she would survive on one sandwich all day.
Funnily enough, there was a period of two to three months where I just had no appetite. I’d split a sandwich in half and have one half for lunch and the other for dinner, and when I got sick of that, I’d switch to salad or a diet wrap.

It wasn’t all clean eating, though. On the harder days, she gave herself a break.
On days when I really felt like I couldn’t take it anymore, I’d order tteokbokki.

The now-actress also revealed the motivation behind such a massive transformation. Mina shared that in her upcoming role, she will star in a swimsuit scene, which pushed her to make the change.
