Actor Yoon Si Yoon has left netizens shocked after candidly confessing that his mother is the reason he is unmarried even in his 40s.

The actor made the confession while appearing as a guest in the May 15 broadcast of KBS2’s Stars’ Top Recipe at Funstaurant. For this episode, singer Kim Jaejoong invited Yoon, along with Choi Jin Hyuk and Yoo Seon Ho, to his home, and the four friends openly talked about romantic relationships and marriage.

The discussion started with Choi Jin Hyuk admitting that his mother nagged him about everything else but marriage and that he felt as if she didn’t want him to get married. Kim Jaejoong strongly related to the comment and added that he believed a man living with his mother can never have a dating life.
As the conversation went along this line, Yoon Si Yoon, who had previously shared that he had no plans for marriage in the next four years, also chimed in, agreeing with the other two. The actor admitted that he also felt that his mother “hates the idea” of him getting married someday. The actor then shared a particular anecdote relating to this remark, leaving everyone surprised.
Yoon mentioned that the incident happened on a day when he had a date with a former girlfriend. He set out for the date, riding in his mother’s car, and asked her to drop him off at the front of a station. However, his mother drove straight past the station, ignoring his request.
When he confronted his mother, saying, “Mom! I told you to let me off!” her reaction left him baffled. Yoon said that she “just said, ‘I don’t know!’ and sobbed uncontrollably while grabbing the steering wheel.”
Hearing the story, when Jaejoong jokingly asked if Yoon was not getting married because of his mother, the actor responded with a mix of humor and sincerity, “Actually, it really is because of my mom.”
Choi Jin Hyuk sympathized with Yoon’s situation, noting that they shared the same fate as only sons. Yoon Si Yoon’s analysis was different, as he theorized that the mothers viewed their sons as their only support system and hence were possessive about them.
This candid confession by Yoon has stirred up heated reactions online, drawing criticism for both the actor and his mother.
