A K-Pop idol’s ex-girlfriend drew attention by bringing up their son during a live broadcast on the same day it was revealed that she is active on TikTok.
On October 22nd, news surfaced that SEEU, the ex-girlfriend of SS501‘s Kim Hyunjoong, was working as a creator under the TikTok live agency Lightning Central.

Following the live broadcast, some point out that it might be sensitive to mention her son since he is an illegitimate child, yet SEEU began boasting about him on the very day her activity news was revealed.
Concerns are also raised that details about her son’s school life and appearance being publicly shared may expose the child offline.
SEEU is the ex-girlfriend of Kim Hyunjoong, whom she dated for about three years from 2012. The legal dispute began in 2014 when SEEU filed a lawsuit against Kim Hyunjoong on charges of assault and injury. At that time, Kim Hyunjoong reportedly expressed an official apology and privately paid SEEU a settlement of ₩600 million KRW (about $453,000 USD), and the two later reconciled.
However, conflicts resurfaced. In 2015, SEEU claimed that she suffered a miscarriage and abortion due to Kim Hyunjoong’s assault and filed a damages lawsuit worth about ₩1.60 billion KRW (about $1.21 million USD). Kim Hyunjoong countersued, filing charges of extortion, fraud, false accusation, and defamation against SEEU.
The legal battle extended to civil and criminal trials. In 2016, the first civil trial court ruled that SEEU damaged Kim Hyunjoong’s reputation through her interviews and ordered her to pay ₩100 million KRW (about $75,600 USD) in damages. The appellate court upheld the same decision, and in 2020, the Supreme Court dismissed both parties’ appeals, finalizing the ruling.
In the criminal trial, SEEU was partially found guilty concerning attempted fraud charges. However, the claim that she had a miscarriage due to Kim Hyunjoong’s assault was judged not to be clearly false, and the defamation charge related to publications was acquitted.
Meanwhile, SEEU gave birth to Kim Hyunjoong’s son in September 2015. Although doubts were raised about paternity, it was later confirmed that the child is Kim Hyunjoong’s biological son, and SEEU has been raising him.
On the other hand, Kim Hyunjoong married a non-celebrity woman in 2022 and had a son the same year.
