Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s first project since returning from his scandal with Kim Sae Ron has been a success.
Recently, some clothing items from a global fashion brand endorsed by Kim Soo Hyun sold out, mainly through the official online store. The brand responded to the overwhelming purchase inquiries by restocking some items, but they sold out again.
A brand representative said, “Since the campaign launch, consumer interest in the products has been continuous. The attention toward Kim Soo Hyun hasn’t been just a temporary buzz; it translated into actual product purchases, showing strong sales impact.”
Earlier on July 14th, news broke that Kim Soo Hyun filmed a commercial in the Philippines, attracting considerable attention. This shoot is part of the current campaign and is significant as his first advertisement activity since his return.
Previously, it was alleged that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, and he temporarily halted his activities amid allegations related to her death and debt repayment pressures.
During the investigation, photos and videos presented as evidence for these allegations were said to have been manipulated using AI. As a result, Kim Se Ui, head of Garosero Research Institute, was arrested and is currently on trial for spreading false information and defaming Kim Soo Hyun.
With Kim Soo Hyun’s return marked by a positive response to his first ad campaign, attention is focused on whether this momentum will carry over into his film and broadcasting activities.
