A beauty influencer and YouTuber spoke out herself after receiving a flood of criticism about her plastic surgeries, as she seems to spend money on them while struggling to pay child support.
On August 19th, You Catnip revealed a consultation for breast revision surgery. She explained the reason for deciding on the surgery, saying, “I wanted to correct my sagging chest and reduce the size, which looked bigger than my slender frame.”
However, some netizens criticized her frequent surgeries. In particular, some pointed out her past appearance on a broadcast where she worked part-time to earn child support, commenting harshly, “She says she earns money due to lacking child support, but where does she keep getting the money for surgeries?”
In response, You Catnip expressed discomfort, saying, “I work to earn money, pay child support, and have revision surgery—is this something a stranger who doesn’t even know me should question so negatively? I already said I need steady income more than just sporadic funds.”
She added, “It’s okay to be curious, but isn’t this something to ask cautiously even among friends or acquaintances? Would you speak like this to people around you in real life? I’m tired of having to answer with a smile.”
You Catnip also addressed the perception that she had undergone surgeries excessively, saying, “You seem to think I had surgery pathologically often, but maybe because I had two big ones… I had jaw contouring, breast surgery, and double eyelid surgery. Why do people keep saying I’m altering myself?”
She continued, “People say they liked my unique face before and express regret, but that can’t be helped. What can I do about what’s already done? It’s my face, and I’m satisfied with it. In person, it actually looks much better.”
When faced with a comment saying, “Spend time taking care of your child… what’s the point if you’re just trying to satisfy your boyfriend,” You Catnip reacted fiercely, saying, “What kind of intelligence does this person have? Was breast surgery to satisfy a boyfriend or husband? Why say stuff like that?”
You Catnip married YouTuber Choi Gogi in 2016 and had one daughter, but they divorced in 2020. Currently, her daughter is being raised by Choi Gogi, and You Catnip appeared on TV Chosun’s X’s Private Life last April, revealing that she works part-time in a café to cover child support expenses.
