A controversial star has returned through a new YouTube channel following a scandal, but public reactions are sharply divided.
On November 5th, a video titled “45-Year-Old Jo Se Ho’s Confession” was released on Jo Se Ho’s YouTube channel. The video quickly led to over 110,000 subscribers, generating hundreds of comments and attracting significant attention.
In the video, Jo Se Ho greeted viewers with personal content for the first time in a while and explained why he created the new channel.
He named the channel after his past catchphrase “How Can I Go If I Don’t Know,” which earned him the nickname “Pro No-Show,” and declared that he would now reinvent himself as a “Pro Attender.”
He invited viewers to send in stories, saying he would go anywhere they called him—weddings, first birthday parties, company dinners, picnics—and cheerfully promised, “I’ll even make soju and beer mixes and show up right away for early morning soccer games.”
Most importantly, Jo Se Ho addressed last year’s controversy directly. He said, “More than ever, I have reflected deeply on the time I have walked so far, and I have repented. To those disappointed or uncomfortable because of the incident last time, I sincerely apologize again here.”
He then pledged, “From now on, I will take greater responsibility in relationships and act more cautiously and attentively toward those around me.”
Previously, in December last year, Jo Se Ho was embroiled in controversy over alleged ties with organized crime groups. At the time, his agency denied the allegations, stating, “It’s simply a personal acquaintance relationship, and there was no exchange of money.”
Jo Se Ho also explained that while he met a variety of people through local events, the allegations raised due to those connections were completely untrue.
However, opinions on his comeback remain mixed. Some netizens expressed negative views, saying, “The entertainment world is really tough, haha. How thick-skinned must you be to come back after this?” “Still not learned your lesson… Celebrities really have it easy,” “Is it right to come out without a proper explanation?”
Others questioned the timing and explanation with comments like, “Looks like he’s sneaking back, haha,” “Just trying to get past it,” and “He knows he’ll get backlash but comes out anyway… that’s some boldness.”
On the other hand, many voiced support for Jo Se Ho’s fresh start. Fans said, “Glad to see news from you after a long time, Se Ho. You worked hard in 2026 too,” “We’ve been waiting. We’ll support you,” “So nice to see your face, Jo Se Ho~ Cheering for you,” and “We’ve been waiting, Jo Se Ho. So happy to see you.”
All eyes are now on whether Jo Se Ho, who has transformed from a “Pro No-Show” into a “Pro Attender,” can regain public trust with his new content.
