In a statement released on August 29, it was revealed that two members — Hawoon and Woojoo — will leave the group. The reason given was that the two wanted to “pursue new challenges,” and that the remaining members would enter a temporary hiatus to figure out what the group would do next.
Adding members, reuniting, or disbanding were all listed as possibilities.

We have some news we would like to share with you carefully.
After thorough discussions and meetings among the members, NXMERCY has decided to temporarily suspend its group activities.
During this process, members Woojoo and Hawoon have decided to pursue new challenges and will therefore conclude their activities with NXMERCY. We sincerely thank Woojoo and Hawoon for all the precious time and memories they shared with us as members of NXMERCY. We sincerely apologize to our fans for delivering this sudden news, and we would be grateful if you could warmly support Woojoo and Hawoon as they begin their new journeys. The remaining members are also carefully considering their individual futures, activities, and paths forward. We will continue to discuss the future direction of NXMERCY as well. At this time, it has not yet been decided what form NXMERCY may take in the future. We may continue our activities with new members, and there is also a possibility that existing members may come together again after some time. Of course, there is also a possibility that NXMERCY may come to an end. For now, we would like to take some time to prepare for our respective paths ahead. The time we spent together under the name NXMERCY, along with the love and support we have received from our fans, will always remain precious memories to us.
