A popular actor recalled his days as a radio DJ and shared a story about feeling sorry to singer and actress IU.
On a recent episode of SBS Radio’s Wendy’s Young Street, with Jang Keun Suk hosting as a special DJ, Choi Daniel appeared as a guest.
On the broadcast, Choi Daniel reminisced about his time hosting KBS Radio’s Choi Daniel’s Pops Pops and opened up about an unforgettable mistake.
He said, “I remember one mistake. It was the third day after switching from a late-night show to a morning broadcast. I was live on air and got really flustered when IU came on as a guest.”
He continued, “At the end of the show, you usually say your closing thanks, right? But I got rushed by time and sent her off without a proper goodbye. That moment still shocks me.”
Because it was a live broadcast and time was running out, he couldn’t properly say goodbye to the guest. Especially since the guest was IU, Choi Daniel said he still hasn’t forgotten that moment even after time has passed.
He confessed, “Ever since then, whenever I see IU on TV, I think, ‘Ah, I should have said goodbye properly…’”
Jang Keun Suk asked, “Have you met IU again since then?” Choi Daniel replied, “No, I’ve only seen her on TV.”
Jang Keun Suk comforted him, saying, “If you meet, I’m sure it would be a cute and funny story.” Choi Daniel smiled shyly and said, “I’d appreciate you remembering it that way…”
Even more than ten years later, Choi Daniel still remembers that moment when he couldn’t properly say goodbye to IU. He honestly shared his feelings of regret over the unexpected live broadcast slip-up, adding warmth and laughter to the story.
