She humbly admitted to her shortcomings.

K-Pop trainees spend years perfecting their skills, appearance, and more, before they even make it to a debut lineup. Given the different concepts and creative direction of different agencies, even an established idol can be required to go back to training before re-debuting under a different label. So, when a rookie girl group member revealed that she debuted with less than a month’s training period, netizens were left aghast.

The idol in question is Kya, the 14-year-old maknae of Starship Entertainment‘s girl group KiiiKiii.

    Kya | Starship Entertainment

Recently, Kya took to a fan communication app to talk to fans about the group’s latest comeback with “404 (New Era).”

Kya talked about the positive response their new song has been receiving, adding that she worked extra hard to prepare for this comeback.

Kya: My everyday is filled with love.

Even if I don’t eat or sleep, I don’t feel any emptiness because I’m filled with love.

Our new song must be really good. Tiiikiiis are loving it a lot. Many people around me also reached out.

I worked really hard to prepare this time. Obviously, I’m always working hard but…

She also confessed that she practiced every little expression and paid extra attention to her dancing to keep up with the rest of her members. Kya then left fans surprised when she revealed that she had trained under Starship Entertainment for only two weeks.

    | Instiz

Kya: I researched my expressions down to even 0.1 seconds.

I also practiced on my own so that I don’t bring my team down with my dan. cing

Since I haven’t trained under Starship for more than 2 weeks, my skills are lacking in many areas.

For this comeback, the song is very focused on performance and vocal tone. So, I kept worrying before the comeback and even talked to XX about it.

Kya’s revelation has now gone viral across Korean communities, leaving netizens baffled. The idol is receiving praise for being so highly skilled that she made it to the debut lineup in just two weeks. Others also appreciated her humble and mature outlook toward her career.

    • “This kid is so mature.”
    • “I’m so proud of her.”
    • “That’s right, she joined the debut group right away and debuted within six months. It seems like it was possible because she’s incredibly talented.”
    • “I can’t believe she’s an all-rounder even though she hasn’t trained much. She’s so good!”
    • “There’s a reason why those who debuted early did so.”
