A K-Pop girl group member shared an update about becoming an office worker while reflecting on her idol days.
On October 23rd, a YouTube channel posted a video titled “Leaving Work | 6 Months as an Entertainment Office Worker Vlog.”
In the video, 4Minute member Kwon Sohyun revealed her busy daily routine, buying coffee and rushing to work at Cube Entertainment, where she works as a PD. She explained that she came to work even on days off when other employees were resting because she had work to do.
After finishing work, Kwon Sohyun said, “Some of you might wonder, ‘Is she still active as an actress?’ It’s been almost six months since I started working at Cube. There are two reasons for this. Watching the Lightsum members, I wanted to be even a little helpful. I kept comparing myself to my peers who debuted around the same time in terms of recognition, popularity, and public appeal, even within the same group. After a period of anxiety, it felt like such a waste.”
She continued, “Although 4Minute did well, I’ve never thought that I personally succeeded. I lived with a high level of insecurity. I always felt ambiguous. I’m not extremely beautiful, I’m not exceptionally talented, and I’m not outstanding at dancing or singing. I thought I was just too vague a person.”
Kwon Sohyun added, “I really asked myself if this job was the right fit for me, what I’m good at, and what I want. I often thought maybe there’s a place where I could better utilize myself and truly feel alive. So when the company said they had a project like this, I thought it was a great opportunity to learn production work,” honestly revealing why she started working in the office.
