BTS V’s military service is gaining attention again after a former training campmate shared new details about what the idol was like as a trainee.
On May 29, 2026 (KST), Star News shared new details about V’s time as a trainee, including a heartwarming account from one of his former training campmates. The story resurfaced after V recently looked back on his military service with his fellow BTS members during a Weverse live broadcast.
During the broadcast, V recalled a funny moment that happened during religious activities while he was a trainee. According to V, he had attended a Catholic Mass with other trainees when someone asked one of them about his baptismal name. The trainee hilariously responded by naming video game characters instead, saying, “I like Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune, and Lux!”
After watching the broadcast, one of V’s former training campmates shared his own memories of serving with the BTS member. The former trainee revealed that when he enlisted, the news of two BTS members entering the military had been a major topic, and he ended up being assigned to the same 1st platoon as V.

He also shared that V gifted Korean beef to the trainees, telling them they had worked hard!
The former training campmate also remembered watching a Christmas church musical together. After the performance, V initially tried to leave with his head lowered when people asked him to greet the crowd. However, when he finally waved at the end, the room reportedly erupted in cheers.
The former campmate went on to praise V’s personality, mentioning that V volunteered for the role of platoon leader. He described V as a genuinely kind and positive person who always led others in a good direction. He added that V was playful, affectionate, and generous-hearted!
The newly resurfaced story has once again drawn attention to V’s reputation during military service, with former fellow soldiers remembering him not only as a global star, but as a kind and dependable person in uniform.
