Dispatch has revealed how ASTRO Cha Eunwoo‘s family is complicit in his ₩20 billion KRW tax evasion scandal.

In their report, Dispatch shared multiple pictures and documents showing how Cha Eunwoo and his family are involved in his tax evasion case. The first thing they went over was the origin of Cha’s Gallery. Cha’s Gallery was established on July 4, 2019 by Cha Eunwoo and his family. The location of its original registration was in Dongan-gu, Anyang. Cha Eunwoo was listed as the CEO while his mother was an internal director and his father was the finance manager.

The listed business purposes of Cha’s Gallery spanned 34 different categories, including music production, music sales, artist management, event planning, advertisement, concert production, theme parks, character production, cosmetics distribution, food service, and IP management.

In June 2020, Cha’s Gallery changed its registered address to Gimpo City. In June 2022, it changed again to Ganghwa Island, where Cha Eunwoo’s parents also run an eel restaurant.

Dispatch then looked into the name changes and the familial ties into Cha Eunwoo’s company. In September 2020, Cha Eunwoo’s mother took over the role of CEO and in 2022, she established a new LLC called L&C. L&C’s purpose was also for artist management. But in 2024, she established D ANY LLC, which was reportedly meant for managing Cha Eunwoo’s assets. The registered address was the same eel restaurant as Cha’s Gallery. Cha’s Gallery ended up being dissolved in 2024.

One thing Dispatch pointed out was the current state of the interior of D ANY LLC. As of January 2026, Dispatch noted the interior was barren, with open walls and rusting beams.

Dispatch questioned why Cha Eunwoo and his family felt the need to establish multiple corporations. They focused in on the LLC structure, which allows corporations to operate with minimal regulatory oversight. As Cha Eunwoo’s alleged tax evasion fine is ₩20.0 billion KRW (about $13.8 million USD), assuming a corporate tax rate of 20%, Cha Eunwoo’s taxable income would be at least ₩100 billion KRW (about $69.1 million USD), and that is after deducting operating expenses. The LLC format also allowed Cha Eunwoo and his family to hide potential real estate acquisitions and major decisions simply needed to be made through family agreement.

Cha’s Gallery was founded in 2019 when Fantagio’s largest shareholder was on the brink of bankruptcy. Despite the difficulties within the company at the time, Cha Eunwoo still decided to renew his contract with the agency, reportedly receiving one of the largest signing bonuses in history. Still, Cha Eunwoo’s payments were all sent to his personal agencies, which is why the National Tax Service is looking to collect his unpaid taxes.
