A K-Pop girl group member openly revealed the reason for her hiatus and shared her honest feelings.
On the 18th, the YouTube channel A-Class Rani released a video titled “SECRET’s Jun Hyosung, who swept first place on music shows, stopped activities and lives alone (3 years of unpaid activities, Jang Young Ran shocked).”
On that day, Jang Young Ran visited SECRET member Jun Hyosung’s (also known as Jun Hyoseong) home to ask about her recent life. Having actively promoted both as part of SECRET and as a solo artist in the past, Jun Hyosung opened up about the unexpected pause in her career.
Jun Hyosung confessed, “There were some company issues, so I was forced to take a break,” adding, “During that time, I thought a lot about ‘What would I do if I didn’t become a celebrity?’”
The sudden halt in activities led to deep worries about her future. However, she used this break as a time to take on new challenges.
She shared, “I spent a lot of time with my family and also earned a pet caretaker certification,” updating on her current status. Besides her entertainment career, she sought various experiences to explore new possibilities.
Still, she never gave up on her dream as a singer. “Since the year before last, I’ve really wanted to sing again,” she said, “I’ve started preparing to return to the stage.”
In fact, Jun Hyosung resumed group activities after 12 years by releasing the special mini-album Secret Flavor on the 18th, together with Jung Hana and new member Yebin.
Jun Hyosung debuted with SECRET in 2009 and earned love with numerous hits like “Magic,” “Madonna,” and “Starlight Moonlight.” She later expanded her career into solo singing, acting, and broadcasting.
