Actor Yeon Jung Hoon is gaining attention after eagle-eyed netizens spotted an incredibly expensive luxury watch on his wrist. Yeon is best known for East of Eden, and subsequently marrying top star Han Ga In.
Recently, photos from rehearsals for the play Dead Poets Society began circulating online. In the images, Yeon Jung Hoon can be seen concentrating on his script while preparing for the production. However, it wasn’t his acting that caught fans’ attention.
Netizens quickly identified the watch he was wearing as a limited-edition timepiece from Dutch luxury watchmaker Grönefeld. The watch reportedly carries a price tag of approximately €155,000 EUR, equivalent to around ₩270 million KRW (about $177,000 USD).
The discovery has reignited discussions about Yeon Jung Hoon’s famously affluent family background. The actor is the son of veteran actor Yeon Gyu Jin, who has long been rumored to possess significant real estate wealth.
In the past, TV Chosun’s Pumpkin Seed discussed Yeon Gyu Jin’s financial success, claiming that his parents were pharmacists and that he later expanded his assets through businesses including a movie theater and an acting academy before investing heavily in real estate. Yeon Jung Hoon himself has frequently been mentioned as one of the entertainment industry’s most famous “gold spoon” celebrities.
His wife, actress Han Ga In, previously revealed details about their living arrangements after marriage. The couple reportedly lived with Yeon Jung Hoon’s parents in a luxury townhouse in Pangyo situated on approximately 250 pyeong of land before later moving into a high-end villa in Seoul.
As a result, many netizens joked that the actor’s expensive watch may only be a small glimpse into his overall wealth.
