Recently, I.O.I released the first music video teaser for their third mini album, [I.O.I : LOOP], and garnered massive reactions online.
Fans were in total shock at the unexpected kiss scene between Doyeon and Jeon Somi.
After the teaser went viral online, Doyeon revealed the back story behind the kiss scene.
Fan: Doyeon, what were your thoughts after seeing the teaser concept?
Doyeon: You might not believe it, but I came up with the idea.
Fan: Did you get the ok after one take?
Doyeon: We did a lot of takes.
Fan: When you told Somi about the idea, was she shocked?
Doyeon: There is no such thing as being shocked for us.
Fan: How did it feel getting kissed by the maknae?
Doyeon: She kissed really hard.
Doyeon also revealed that the scene changed from a slap to a kiss scene.
The original reference was a cute slap on the cheek, but it changed to a kiss. Let’s kiss and not hit each other.

Fans agreed that it was a good decision to change it to a kiss as a slap could cause controversy.
