Mina, who was one of the eleven members of I.O.I, a popular girl group created through the 2016 survival show Produce 101, created quite the buzz after it was reported that she would be the only one not joining the group’s 10-year reunion project. She maintained her silence on this topic for a while, inevitably sparking speculations.

On April 21, KST, Mina addressed the issue directly for the first time during the press conference for her upcoming Netflix series, If Wishes Could Kill. The actress expressed her regret and disappointment in not being able to join the reunion project. “I feel very apologetic to the fans,” she admitted. However, Mina also clarified that her absence wasn’t due to a lack of interest but to her prior commitments to her acting projects.
Mina explained that she already had a filming schedule set when the reunion plans started, and ultimately, she decided to commit to the acting responsibilities that she had said yes to first. She urged fans for their kind understanding of her decision.
