So the tax evasion or owed additional taxes issue that has embroiled a few K-stars this year alone, including Cha Eun Woo, Yoo Yeon Seok, Lee Min Ki, and others, can now add Ji Chang Wook to that list. It’s being reported that after a recent government tax audit concluded it was deemed that he owed billions in unpaid taxes, reportedly from the declaration of income from acting, endorsements, overseas activity and more that were reported by his personally set up agency rather than himself as an individual. This has been the recurring theme now with so many stars once they set up their own agency, and ostensibly their taxes are being handled by accountants and this is likely the conflict being very aggressive reading of the tax code versus how the government interprets it. His agency has said this is not tax evasion and any additional taxes will be paid, it’s simply a disagreement between how the taxes are assessed and calculated and will be resolved.
